Fees, Funding & Bursaries
The tuition fee for our one year full-time primary or secondary teacher training programme for 2025/26, leading to Qualified Teacher Status, is £9,250.
There is lots of financial support available to support your training, including tax-free bursaries of up to £24,000.
Tax-free Bursaries
You can support the cost of your training with a tax-free teacher training bursary. Teacher training bursaries of up to £24,000 (2023/24) are available in a range of subjects.
Student Loan
Our school-direct fee funded courses are eligible for finance under the Student Loans Scheme.
Additional Financial Support
You may be entitled to additional financial support if you’re a parent, have an adult dependant, or a disability. Visit the GOV.UK website for the most up to date information on the support that is available - for example through the Childcare Grant, Parents' Learning Allowance, Child Tax Credits, Disabled Students' Allowance, and the Adult Dependants' Grant.
Financial support is not available to trainees to cover the costs of travelling to and from their placement schools.
Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeships Programme
As a Postgraduate teacher apprentice, working in a maintained school, you will be paid in accordance with at least point 1 on the unqualified teachers’ pay scale for the time you are completing your training.
